As part of the Energize Connecticut initiative Connecticut's energy consumers have
an energy and money-saving resource right at their
fingertips — the Connecticut Energy
Efficiency Fund. Created in 1998 to address Connecticut's increasing energy needs –
and rising costs – the Energy Efficiency Fund is an initiative to help homeowners and renters,
small and large businesses, and state and local governments alike get in the habit of using energy
more efficiently. The Energy Efficiency Fund is supported by all CL&P and UI customers through the Combined Public Benefits Charge on their electric bill and by customers of Connecticut Natural Gas, Southern Connecticut Gas Company and Yankee Gas Services Company through a conservation charge included in their rates. The Connecticut Light & Power Company (CL&P), and The United Illuminating Company (UI), administer the energy-efficiency programs the Energy Efficiency Fund supports, providing energy-efficiency expertise and financial incentives to help their customers reduce the amount of energy used in their homes and businesses.
Below is an overview of the Energy Efficiency Fund programs. Click on the link to your utility company for complete details.
