General project overview:

Modest sized cape style home, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, attached 2 car garage; About 2,400 sq. ft.

Special Features:

  • ICF foundation

Orientation and Envelope: (windows, insulation, framing)

  • House faces south to take advantage of passive solar heating, and also for optimum exposure of solar array on garage roof.

  • Double pane windows

  • Standard framing: 2x6 exterior walls, I-joist floor joists & rafters

  • Spray foam insulation

Heating, Cooling, and Hot Water:

  • ClimateMaster 3 ton geothermal heat pump with desuperheater, 80 gallon heat pump electric water heater, Lennox wood-burning insert tied in to ductwork

Ventilation:

  • Nu-Air ES 210 HRV

Electrical:

  •  Standard 200 Amp service, with generator hookup outlet in garage.

Renewables:
