Owners/Designers:
While living in Oregon, Jeremy and Karann Schaller became intrigued with sustainable home design and construction, such as off-the-grid and strawbale homes found on the West Coast. After relocating to the Northeast this interest flourished in the solar friendly state of Connecticut, where it became possible to build an affordable, sustainable home that approaches zero energy. They designed the Eco-Home themselves, and were intimately involved in the construction with the help of a team of professionals. Jeremy is a graphic designer and owns his own company in Torrington, CT and Karann worked as an environmental engineer before leaving the profession to raise their two young children.
